UGASF contracts borehole for Hwanabenya community in Eastern Region of Ghana

Water is life! UGASF believes in giving and sustaining life in underserved rural communities in Ghana - thus giving back to the roots where we came from to be in America.

The United Ghanaians Association (UGASF) has undertaken one of its life-saving projects by providing a mechanized borehole water facility to the people of Hwanabenya, a deprived rural community located in the Ayensuano District of the Eastern Region of Ghana.

The water project, which cost approximately $3,000, forms one of the many projects that the UGASF looks forward to undertake in the coming times. The water project entailed, the construction of the borehole and platform as well as providing a poly tank.

The leadership and members of UGASF are happy that the community of Hwanabenya now has potable water to drink. 

"We have been water-starved for many years never knowing where a support would come from. We had to trek for about three miles to access potable water in a nearby community.

That is why our joy will never end when we heard from and saw with our real eyes the Ghanaians group in the USA - the United Ghanaians Association of South Florida - come to our aid by providing this needful potable water facility for us.

Now, we will not walk for miles in search of water for our homes. Thank you UGASF! God bless you all!" One of the women in the Hwanabenya community expressed.
